It is a set of pre-written files for a plugin you already run, such as TAB, EssentialsX, LiteBans or EternalTags. Whether free or paid, a good one saves hours of YAML. A bad one breaks your server._ ## What a config pack is Plugins ship with minimal defaults. A config pack replaces those defaults with finished work: styled messages, menus, tags, scoreboards or reward tables. Config structures change between plugin releases. 2. **Server software.** Paper, Spigot and Purpur differ in what they support. 3. **Dependencies.** Does it need PlaceholderAPI, Vault or LuckPerms? 4. **Documentation.** A README explaining install steps and how to edit it. 5. **No hardcoded branding.** You should be able to rename and recolor everything. 6. **Reviews and creator history.** Look for real reviews on the marketplace page. 7. **License terms.** Check whether you can use it on every server you own, and that redistribution is not allowed. ## How to install a config safely 1. **Back up** the plugin's current config folder. 2. **Stop the server** or follow the plugin's reload rules. 3. **Copy the files** into the plugin folder as the README instructs. 4. **Start and read the console.** Fix YAML errors immediately.
