## Setting Up Jobs Reborn for Player Professions

_A player mining stone was already going to mine stone. Jobs Reborn just makes sure that effort also pays._

Jobs Reborn lets players join one or more "jobs" (Miner, Farmer, Fisherman, Builder, and others) that pay currency for actions related to that profession, turning otherwise unpaid survival activity into a core part of the server's economy.

## Install Jobs Reborn

[Jobs RebornPlayer professions with configurable experience and economy rewards.On SpigotMC ](https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/4216/)

[CMILibShared library required by Jobs Reborn and other Zrips plugins.On Official site ](https://www.zrips.net/cmilib/)

[VaultConnect compatible economy, permission and chat plugins through a shared API.On GitHub ](https://github.com/MilkBowl/Vault)

Download Jobs Reborn from the project linked above. Check the supported Minecraft version, server platform, Java requirement and dependencies for the selected release.

1. Back up the server files and any plugin database.
2. Stop the server before changing JAR files. Put the compatible plugin build and its required dependencies in the correct plugin folder.
3. Start the server and read the startup log. Resolve missing dependencies or version errors before editing the generated configuration.
4. Stop the server, make one small configuration change, then restart and test it with a non-operator account.

Jobs Reborn also requires CMILib. Follow the developer’s dependency list, then test one profession and one small payout before enabling every job.

## Joining a Job

```
/jobs join Miner
```

Players can typically join a limited number of jobs at once (configurable), encouraging some specialization rather than everyone joining every job simultaneously.

## Checking Job Info

```
/jobs info Miner
```

shows the payment rates for specific actions within that job. Players can use it to decide which job actually pays best for their preferred playstyle.

## Configuring Payment Rates

```
Miner:
  stone:
    break:
      income: 2.0
      experience: 1.0
  diamond_ore:
    break:
      income: 15.0
      experience: 10.0
```

Each job's config defines exactly which actions pay, and how much. Rarer or harder-to-obtain materials typically pay more than common ones.

## Job Leveling

Jobs Reborn jobs level up independently with continued use, similar in concept to mcMMO's skill leveling, often with payment rates scaling up slightly as a job levels. That gives players a reason to stick with a job rather than switching between several for marginal short-term gains.

## Setting Job Limits

```
max-jobs: 3
```

limits how many jobs a player can hold simultaneously. It's a common balance lever, since unlimited job stacking can let a single player earn from every category of activity at once.

## Combining Jobs With a Broader Economy

Jobs Reborn works well as the "earning" side of an economy, paired with ChestShop or a GUI shop plugin as the "spending" side. Without something to spend currency on, job payouts just accumulate without real purpose.

## Avoiding Economy Inflation

Payment rates that are too generous relative to shop prices inflate the economy quickly. Players earning far more than they can reasonably spend devalues currency over time. Reviewing job payout totals against actual shop prices periodically, rather than setting rates once and never revisiting them, keeps the economy from drifting out of balance as the server's playerbase and playtime grow.

## Preventing Job Payout Abuse

Some setups are vulnerable to exploits. A Farmer job paying for breaking crops combined with an auto-farm or AFK farming setup can generate currency with minimal actual effort. Reasonable payout caps per time period, or detecting clearly automated farming patterns, are worth considering if this becomes a real problem on a specific server.

## Economy balancing test

Measure rewards for common tasks over a realistic play session instead of checking only whether one action pays. Look for repeatable methods that generate currency much faster than intended. Coordinate payouts with shops, taxes and other money sources so job rewards do not destabilize the economy.

## Review the job alongside every other income source

Calculate a few ordinary earning paths before setting multipliers. Compare a short mining session, a farm activity and a repeated action that could be automated. Include how players spend the resulting currency. A payout that seems small per action may become large when repeated by a machine or combined with another reward system. Test the intended constraints rather than assuming that a rank or permission limit covers every route.

Decide how joining, leaving and changing jobs affect progress. Explain that behavior where players make the decision. Test a fresh account and an established one so the first-session experience is not hidden by accumulated bonuses. Keep income and progression data in the recovery plan. After a shop or reward update, revisit the job's economic role; changing a currency sink can make an unchanged job payout behave very differently for players.

### Troubleshooting paths

- Earnings are unexpected: inspect action eligibility, multipliers and bonuses.
- Progress differs after a change: review the configured join and leave behavior.
- Economy inflates: compare total income with spending routes before changing one price.

## Calibrate income with real player activity

Measure what a normal new player earns from mining, farming and building over a short session. Compare those earnings with the prices of necessities and other money sources. If AFK farms produce disproportionate payouts, adjust the specific action rewards rather than reducing every profession equally.

Test job-switching restrictions and payout permissions with a normal player account. Keep a copy of the earning configuration before balance changes.
